SDPS: 2015 Advertising Awards Recap

We're Proud of Our Work (And They Are Too!)

As we wind down the year, we would like to congratulate many of our students who have won advertising awards in 2015. While last year earned our school a great deal of attention, we're proud to say that 2015 has been even better to us. Our advertising awards speak to the founding principles of San Diego Portfolio Studio in that our mission has always been to help creatives build better portfolios. By entering contests, students and alumni get the recognition they deserve for their efforts and invaluable talking points for their next interview. Without further ado, here are the 2015 SDPS advertising award winners:

American Advertising Awards - National

Frequently referred to as the ADDY Awards, the American Advertising Awards are often considered the gold standard when it comes to the ad industry. San Diego Portfolio Studio is delighted and honored to have won 3 national awards, from students Tani Yasso (Logo Design and Integrated Campaign) and Stephen Chu (Copywriting).

American Advertising Awards - District 15

SDPS is lucky enough to also receive 7 regional ADDY awards. The recipients include Tani Yasso (Gold ADDY for Logo Design and a Silver ADDY for an Integrated Campaign), Christian Capuchino (Silver ADDY for a Magazine Ad Campaign), Alvaro Camacho (Gold ADDY for Digital Creative Technology), Stephen Chu (Silver ADDY for Copywriting), Monique Lindsay (Silver ADDY for a Website) and Lynette Rios (Silver ADDY for a Magazine Ad Campaign).

American Advertising Awards - San Diego Local

As we are based out of lovely San Diego, taking home awards that represent our city has a special meaning for us. We're so proud to have won 10 San Diego ADDY awards. Winning SDPS students include Nichol DeRosier (Best of Show, Gold ADDY), Liya Enikeeva (Gold ADDY), Stephen Chu (Bronze ADDY), Tani Yasso (2x Bronze ADDY), Alvaro Camacho (Bronze ADDY), Christian Capuchino (Bronze ADDY), Monique Lindsay (Bronze ADDY), Regina Luciano (Bronze ADDY) and Lynette Rios (Bronze ADDY).

Applied Arts Student Competition

Congratulations to Tani Yasso whose integrated design campaign for the House of Houdini Museum was published as part of the Applied Arts Student Competition.

Stephen Chu had his hilarious Otter Box print ads featured in Archive's Fall 2015 quarterly print edition. The ads played up the durability of Otter Box phone cases.

One of five finalists in TheBigAdGig, Stephen Chu also created an effective anti-drunk driving campaign which earned him a paid internship at Ogilvy & Mather. We couldn't be happier for him.

Clio Key Art Awards

A highly imaginative print campaign for "The Walking Dead" designed for elevators earned Christian Capuchino a Silver Award from the prestigious Clio Key Art Awards jury.

Graphis New Talent Annual 2015

San Diego Portfolio Studio earned 8 advertising awards from the decades-old Graphis publication, in areas like branding and product advertising. The recipients include Liya Enikeeva (Silver Award for Poster category), Francesca Felix (Merit Award for Branding category), Lynette Rios (Merit Award for Print Advertising category), Brooke Lingenfelder (Merit Award for Packaging category), Elizabeth Williams (Merit Award for Logo category), Adrian Ramirez (Merit Award for Logo category), Stephen Chu (Merit Award for Product Advertising category) and Christian Capuchino (Merit Award for Entertainment Advertising category).

HOW Promotion and Marketing Design Awards

SDPS student Brooke Lingenfelder earned a Merit award (1 of just 15 national awards) for her brilliant "100 Years of Hanging Out" Converse campaign. If you swing by our school, you can find the campaign on display.

SDX Brand Diego Awards

Candela Rebot earned a Young Achiever Award from SDX Brand Diego (formerly known as the San Diego Ad Club). SDX awards are given to those "who have made a notable or lasting impact" in the advertising and business world.
