In October, Portfolio Studio students participated in a One Club Bootcamp. At the bootcamps, multicultural students with diverse backgrounds from around the world have the opportunity to work with the best agencies and creatives, and showcase their creative talents.
Aspiring art director Oriana Jones, and copywriter Yasmeen Mezenner, worked in teams with students from other schools on a campaign for Greyhound.
Being new to the advertising industry, I saw the One Club Bootcamp as a great opportunity to get a sense of what agency life is really like. It was a test to see if this path is the right one for me. - Oriana
The bootcamp was not anything like I expected. I thought it would be more of a workshop that would directly teach me the ins and outs of creative ideation for a client, instead it threw me into the fire unprepared and indirectly taught me some critical basics. - Yasmeen
Watching the different styles of other presenters and listening to all the ideas from all the teams was my favorite part. - Yasmeen
Getting to know people on other teams, the mentors, connecting with non-creatives to pick their brains (whether they realized it or not) - the bootcamp was an amazing experience. - Oriana
Oriana's team was selected for their winning presentation and received an invite to the upcoming One Show in New York and the opportunity for an interview at Goodby when her portfolio is ready.
Congratulations to Oriana and Yasmeen for a job well done.
