You’ll build an online portfolio to put your best foot forward. One-on-one assistance with layout, editing, content writing, and positioning will be provided. If you need to build a portfolio or update an existing one, this is an opportunity you can't miss. We recommend Squarespace for an online platform.

What You'll Learn
Session 1: Introduction: Where Do You Want To Work? - Let's discover where you fit in today's marketplace. This course begins with feedback for your existing work and advice on how to improve, expand, and showcase it.
Session 2: Understanding Different Portfolios - This session explains the different industry portfolios, what employers are looking for today, and we begin curating your work. Portfolios for large and small advertising agencies, design studios, in-house companies, interactive agencies, marketing firms, and specialty houses are included. Building a portfolio for freelance or independent contract work is also discussed.
Session 3: Your Online Presentation - We are moving online. This week we'll look at and choose a portfolio website and URL. There is information about formatting your work, tablets for presentation, and showing process work and case studies as a way to showcase your comprehensive thinking. And, we'll get your work up on the web through a personal site, and key social media placement.
Session 4: Print Portfolios And Promotional Materials - Although the industry is dominated by the internet, there is still a place for print for designers and advertisers. In this session you'll learn to create print portfolios, using a grid for layout and design.
Session 5: Putting It All Together - Time to bring it all together. Here you'll start to put your best foot forward through brand consistency and presenting the right work for the job you are seeking.
