Work at Your Own Pace
We offer free e-courses monthly. Each of our self-directed courses allow you to work at a speed that is comfortable for you. You'll get suggested "due dates" on assignments and quizzes to help you move along - but you can choose how fast to go.
This course provides many of the basics you'll need to develop your own contracts and forms. You can move through it as quickly or slowly as you like.
What You'll Learn
Session 1: Introduction and Industry Overview - An overview of the diverse career paths in advertising and design.
Session 2: Art Directors - You are an “idea” person. You love creative pursuits. You like working and managing people. You can delegate. You put high demands on yourself. You always multitask and wouldn’t have it any other way. You can sell your ideas. A "creative side" position, the path of the Art Director is explained.
Session 3: Copywriters - The written word fascinates you. You like creative and business writing. You are comfortable working with others and like to banter ideas back and forth. The creative that focuses on language, both Content and Brand Copywriting careers are showcased in this session.
Session 4: Graphic Designers - You like to draw or create. You are fluent on the computer. You enjoy working with imagery. You can sit and work on a project for a long time. You have technological fluency. Design and production job responsibilities - from entry level to seniors are explained here.
Session 5: Digital and Interaction Designers - There is a lot of debate and overlap between titles in digital and interaction design. As the industry continues to evolve and new positions are created, it will become even more complex.
Session 6: Content Copywriters - You love writing, are flexible, and like wearing different creative hats. You're very detail oriented, enjoy research, are an accomplished editor, and data doesn't scare you a bit.
